Basil E. Bacorn
Hi! I'm Basil E. Bacorn, a small-town YA  author who loves fantasy so much he practically lives in it! You're on my about page so hopefully you're not disappointed!

I've been writing my entire life, but I started it as a career in 2015 after I broke some things inside me that aren't supposed to be broken, and was laid up in bed awhile. That was when I wrote the first draft of my first novel, Dark's Descent.

They say, well I just made it up, that a person's music interests tell a lot about them, so here is an ever-growing playlist of songs I am/have been obsessed with and listen to as I work.
Some other things about me are I like to read (of course). Some of my favorite books are:

  • 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
  • When You Reach Me
  • The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime
  • Lord of the Flies
  • Trust Me, I'm Lying
  • Dead End in Norvelt
  • and pretty much everything Rick Riordan writes (You are a real inspiration Mr. Riordan, if you're reading this!)

If you'd like to recommend a book, or if you are Rick Riordan, don't hesitate to send me a message in the deformed contact box below!
I also watch some television, typically just my two favorite shows and the Hallmark Channel during Christmas... I LOVE Just in Time for Christmas and really need to review it one of these days.
Speaking of movies, my all-time favorite is the 2017 remake of Beauty and the Beast. I waited so long for that (it's my favorite Disney Classic). I saw it twice when it came out, once with my little sister to celebrate our back-to-back birthdays and once with my grandma in 3-D on my actual birthday (I think...).

I got a little off topic there for a second...

Anyway, I consider myself a very involved person. Even though I own a bookstore in Towanda, I am currently a member of the Athens Business Association.
